PowerFLARM Portable - FLARM/ADS-B/Transponder Collision Warning Device
Despite "See and Avoid", there are 20 collisions in general aviation worldwide every year. Every second participant does not survive. Unfortunately, collisions are the second most common cause of accidents. Collisions usually occur during the day and in good visibility, in controlled and uncontrolled airspace.
Transponders in small aviation are not the only ones that help to detect and avoid collisions with each other. Other technologies are geared towards the needs of commercial aviation. For small aviation, there is a need for a cost-effective, small and low-power system that can warn of dangerous traffic and thus support the pilot.
In recent years, FLARM® has become very widespread and accepted in gliding. More than 15,000 devices are in use in Europe and Australia, including over 10,000 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
PowerFLARM® has now been specially developed to meet the requirements of motorized air transport. PowerFLARM® combines the advantages of FLARM® with ADS-B and transponder technology from powered flight. It is inexpensive and easy to install. PowerFLARM reliably warns of a wide range of air traffic users - including a staggering majority of gliders, aircraft with Mode-C or Mode-S transponders, and air traffic equipped with ADS-B.
